Modern country house in Oberstdorf
This project, a renovation and extension of an apartment building in Oberstdorf, shows how close the interaction between site and building can be: A – after the extension – large building was sensitively embedded in the landscape. The special features of the building site, such as the slope and the distance to the neighboring buildings, were a great challenge for us and our planning. Especially since a large space program was required.
The property was to adhere both to the given customary local development and to feature modern design elements. The property offers a magnificent view of the Oberstdorf mountains. This was taken into account in the living spaces, balconies and terraces. The local facade elements and balconies were designed in light larch wood. The result is a filigree looking building in country house style.
